| 1959 CHRYSLER ANTIQUE 12,995.00 - Yes, this is “Factory
Built” but down under in Australia. This “Utility Pickup” is only
one of 347 ever built in 1959 making it very rare indeed.
As you can see it’s mostly original, never having been restored,
only maintained. Its brite work, bumpers, hubcaps and even its wooden
box floor are “as shipped” from the factory. It’s powered by
its mini Hemi 6 cylinder and automatic transmission and yes, it’s still
right hand drive. While the Aussie’s built “Ute’s” as far back
as the late 30’s America never caught on until Ford’s Ranchero in
1957 and Chevrolet’s El Camino in 1959. Built with the car chassis
and sheetmetal while utilizing the pickup concept these have been a wonderful
all around and daily used vehicle. You may note that this
‘59 still carries the look of the ‘55-’56 American Plymouth but only
the Chrysler name appeared in Australia!
